Near 鐵像寺水街 in the city of Chengdu
It’s a promenade featuring a river, some bridges, lots of shops and restaurants.
It’s named after the iron buddha statue once found here (though the statue is no longer here).

Near 峨眉山 Emei Mountain
Emei is one of the four sacred buddhist mountains of China. In Chinese Buddhism, each of these 4 mountains is dedicated to a main bodhisattva. Emei is dedicated to Bodhisattva Samantabhadra, the bodhisattva associated with meditation and practice. It’s famous for its peak called 金頂(golden summit) at the altitude of 3099 meters, and the wild monkeys along its trails that are known to grab stuff from travelers.
The monkeys
People often say that the monkeys are super wild here. They are not afraid of human and often grab food or drinks from people’s bags on the trail. On this day though, we didn’t find a lot of monkeys nearby. None of them entered the trail. We just saw a few nearby monkeys near the end of the day on the tree branches.
