Love

Normal social thinking:
  • romantic love is something one falls into
  • Uncontrollable impulse
 
Love as a life task theory:
  • We do not “fall” in love:
  • it is something we build
  • People avoid looking directly at the task resort to destiny (divine) or instinct (animalistic)
  • “Falling in love” is like materialistic obsession. Likely getting tired quickly after getting it.
  • To be loved is difficult, to love is more difficult
